The rugged peaks of Mt Roland create the perfect backdrop for this charming property.

With it's array of hand built, rustic dwellings & outbuildings and it's diverse garden landscape,

here  you will find beauty in every corner.

 

In the late 1980s, the first owners had a vision to transform this native bush land.

They set about planting hundreds of native & exotic plant species including maple, birch, oak, fir, blackwood

& the ever eye-catching 'Zelcova Serrata' which line the property entrance.

A selection of Eucalypts were milled here for constructing the unique cabins & huts dotted around the acreage.

 

The name 'Whispering Woods' was given & it remained as this for many years.

​

 

 

 

 

In 2015 we, the Scrimgeour family, came to the property with a desire to continue the ongoing legacy of this home,

which had always been a place of welcome, rest, hospitality & love.

​

We brought with us a dream to open our very own farm gate honey shop

under our brand name of 'Twelve Acre Wood'  Raw Honey.

A dream of creating a cosy abode in which we could welcome couples from around the globe,

 to share the beauty of this unique location with them.

To open the gates for events, weddings & special occasions.

To become a part of our local neighbourhood & to be a blessing to those around us.

In 2018  the name 'Twelve Acre Wood' replaced 'Whispering Woods' & now encompasses our land, our home, our honey,

our hospitality & our ever growing list of plans & dreams which emerge here.

 

 

Twelve Acre Wood is a very special place -  Tasmania is a very special place.
